Before order despatched from seed grower

To reduce the susceptibility of tubers to damage before grading/sizing allow seed            approximately 48 hours to reach a temperature of 8-10°C.

Curing seed after grading/sizing enables wound healing on tubers that may have been damaged and thus preventing secondary infections entering wounds. It is recommended that a period of 3 days with positive ventilation at 8-10°C will help prevent any secondary infections.

If order is to be graded in advance of intended pick up date, place seed back into ventilated storage (preferably refrigerated) to help avoid seed becoming chitted and condensation accumulating near the surface of the bag/box.

Prior to seed being despatched from the farm ensure the temperature from several tubers in the stock is known and recorded into the delivery advice book. If seed is held in cold store allow the temperature of the tubers to warm up to 8-10°C if the transport unit is non-refrigerated.
